Harrowhark Nova is an imagined or hallucinatory combination of Harrowhark Nonagesimus and Gideon Nav's history. Cavalier secondary to the Ninth House, Harrow Nova exists only in Harrow's imagination as she is dying of a rapier wound during the Battle of the Mithraeum, and is the imaginary alternative to Harrow if she had not been born a necromancer.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Despite the sacrifice made by Pelleamena Novenarius and Priamhark Noniusvianus to ensure a necromantic heir, Harrow Nova was not born a necromancer, and breaks the necromantic line descending from Anastasia. She calls herself the 'unfulfilled vow' because of this. Refused weapons by her house, Harrow climbed the Anastasian monument and stole Samael Novenary's off-hand, a black chain. For this, she was stripped and whipped by the Reverend Father until his adoptive Daughter and Heir interceded on her behalf—at which point Harrow was allowed to keep the chain.
Harrow the Ninth[]

Harrow Nova, challenges an warped version of Ortus Nigenad to a duel for the position of cavalier primary and the chance to serve the Reverend Daughter at First House. Ortus, a skull scarified onto his face, implores her to see reason. He readily admits that she is the greater swordsman and better cavalier, but claims that the Reverend Mother and Father would never allow Harrow to serve while he lives. Harrow readies herself to kill him when Crux rushes in. Crux berates Ortus for drawing his sword on sacred ground and bids him "rush to [his] cuckoo's side."[1] As Ortus flees, Crux instructs Harrow to apologize to the pilgrims. She goes over to the two pilgrims and realizes they are Abigail Pent and Magnus Quinn. They tell her "this isn't how it happens,"[1] and the vision shifts.
Appearance and Personality[]
Harrow's appearance is not described, but assumed to match the original Harrowhark Nonagesimus.
In personality, Harrow appears to resemble Gideon Nav—brash, argumentative, and tough.
Relationships[]
Ortus Nigenad[]
Harrow Nova's relationship with Ortus Nigenad is fraught. Harrow is jealous of Ortus's position and despises that he has achieved it despite being the lesser cavalier. She does not truly have any problem with him as a person, but his position makes it impossible for her to get along with him. Harrow Nova retains her namesakes hatred of Ortus's obsession with Matthias Nonias.
Marshal Crux[]
Harrow Nova's relationship with Crux remains unchanged from Harrowhark Nonagesimus. He is the only person that she believes has any stake in her sanity and success. He is the only one who still calls her 'Harrowhark'.
